This blog has been designed to run in partnership with our Comenius project - A Journey to Hope. Staff and students can use this to question, debate and just get to know each other as we launch ourselves into film and the issues and questions that arise from them.

Happy viewing!

Heathfield School, in connection with St. Augustines School based in Taunton have come up with a welcome movie to show you what makes a typical day in a British school child's life.

The students were set the task of taking some pictures which represented a typical day at school and during the weekend and were then asked to write a little about each one. Here is what they came up with - we hope you enjoy it!

The “Beneath a Somerset Sky” project had focused on depicting the physical surroundings of Somerset to help students explore the subtle differences within a landscape. It has helped students appreciate the cultural heratige and the everyday beauty of their natural environment. The final pieces of art work took influence from the style of Vincent Van Gogh, one of the greatest observes of his local landscape.

The Art department worked with Year 8 students to create these landscapes from Somerset.

What landscapes would you choose from your own countries?
