Comenius Project
Each school has chosen a film which either shows the culture of their own country, or deals with important issues, like teenage pregnancy. The main theme of the film should be tolerance. The film that we have chosen covers both. It’s called Wondrous Oblivion, which is set in 1960’s England, and deals with racism, prejudice and immigration. It also is centred on one of the most English subjects you can think of. Cricket.
The film itself is good, and is quite poignant at the end, but I won’t give the film away if you want to see it.
With the film, we looked at the DVD cover, and thought that it wasn’t really that good, and that we could do better. The blurb on the back, that describes the film and is therefore crucial, was a bit bland, and didn’t seem to cover the main aspects of the film Some of the examples of our work are on the board, and the blurbs that we rewrote. We all focused on different aspects of the DVD cover. Some of us, who are more artistic, chose to design the cover and back of the DVD, whereas others wrote the blurb on the back and Dan designed the template for the DVD so that we could put them all together.
